WelcomeWelcome to Hume-Fogg High for our 2025-2026 school year,
I hope everyone had a wonderful summer and is ready for school! Whether you are a new family to Hume-Fogg or have an upper-class student, this year is going to be a great year, and we are so happy that you are part of the HFA family! The Hume-Fogg Association is the organization that serves Hume-Fogg as its PTO. Last year, we provided essential funds to each of our departments, our sports teams, and our fine arts programs. We also provided funds to upgrade and repair the sound system in the gymnasium which will be repaired soon, as well as the sound system in the auditorium. The board and committees of the HFA have been working hard over the summer to ensure we build on all the wonderful accomplishments of the last several years. It is especially important to us that each of our stakeholders, whether parents, students, teachers, or administrators, have input in reaching our goals this year. Your board has balanced the budget for the first time in many years, and we want to implement a strategic plan, which will service to guide the board and the growing needs of our stakeholders and will be implementing a comprehensive communications plan provide relevant and timely information across all of our platforms. We will provide opportunities for you to network with other families and support the Association through our annual Invest campaign, Spirit Nights at local restaurants, Parent Coffees and family nights at sporting venues. We encourage you to visit our Spirit Shop to purchase athletic wear, sweatshirts and pajama bottoms to show school pride. We will be continuing the rich tradition of showing our teachers and staff how much they are valued by not only having a teacher appreciation week, but by showing our gratitude for teachers and staff all year long. We will provide support to our alumni through communications, networking, and opportunities to mentor current students. As Nashville's oldest public school, Hume-Fogg has been voted the number ONE public school in the state of Tennessee and has been designated as a Blue-Ribbon School multiple times. Under the leadership of our executive principal, Dr. Kellie Hargis, and her amazing team, Dr. Lisa Bonelli, Mr. Rick Stanley and Dean Jessie Blair, your student and your family have officially won the education lottery of a lifetime. Our school is GREAT, our school is KIND, our school has WONDERFUL, CARING teachers and staff, and our school offers every opportunity your student needs to not only be successful, but to grow and thrive in a place that recognizes and celebrates their uniqueness.
